Terms of Use
Last updated: November 1, 2026
By using thepodatlas.com ("Pod Atlas") you agree to these terms. If you create an account you are asked to accept them, together with our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
What Pod Atlas is
Pod Atlas is a free directory that helps you discover podcasts, much like a podcast app's search page. Podcast names, descriptions, artwork and episodes belong to their creators. Pod Atlas does not host podcast audio: episodes play directly from each show's own host or from YouTube's embedded player.
Where show information comes from
- Podcast Index. The list of shows comes from the public catalog published by Podcast Index, which allows its public data to be downloaded, stored and redistributed.
- Each show's public RSS feed. Titles, short descriptions, artwork and episode lists are read from the feed the creator publishes so that podcast directories and apps can list and play the show. We show this information only to identify the show and let people listen to it, and every page links back to the show and where to listen.
- YouTube API Services for YouTube video podcasts (see below).
Opting out. Shows whose feed tells directories not to list them (the standard itunes:block or podcast:block setting) are not shown. Any creator can also ask us to remove or correct their show, artwork or description at hello@thepodatlas.com; we do so within 7 days, without asking for a reason.
Pod Atlas is not affiliated with Apple, Spotify, Google, YouTube or any podcast app; their names are used only to say where you can listen.
YouTube
Pod Atlas uses YouTube API Services. By using Pod Atlas you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. YouTube videos and channel information come from YouTube and belong to their creators.
Accounts
You must be at least 13 to create an account. Keep your sign-in details safe; you're responsible for what happens under your account.
Community rules
You're responsible for what you post. Don't post anything illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, spam, other people's private information, or content you don't have the right to share. Stay on topic: podcasts. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
Watch Together. The same rules apply in watch parties, including to what you show on camera and say. Only invite people who want to join, and only record with the built-in Record button, which shows everyone a notice. If you post a recording, you are responsible for it: get the other people's OK first, and make sure the episode's own audio isn't in it (use headphones), since the episode belongs to its creator. Episodes always play from the original source (YouTube or the show's own audio host) on each person's device; Pod Atlas never copies or rebroadcasts them. Only people with an account can start a room; the host can lock it and remove anyone. Use the Report button to tell us about abuse; we review reports, may remove access, and report illegal content to the authorities as the law requires.
You keep ownership of what you post, and you give Pod Atlas permission to display it on the site.
Copyright and removal requests
Creators: to remove or correct your show, email hello@thepodatlas.com with the page link and what you'd like changed. No legal notice is needed for this.
Copyright notices. If you believe material on Pod Atlas infringes your copyright, send a notice to our copyright contact, hello@thepodatlas.com, that includes:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- a description of the copyrighted work you say is infringed;
- the link (URL) to the material on Pod Atlas you want removed;
- your name, postal address, telephone number and email address;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
We remove or disable access to the material promptly and tell the person who posted it, if it came from a Community post.
Counter-notices. If your Community post was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice to the same address with: your signature; the removed material and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address and telephone number; and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if you are outside the United States, any district where Pod Atlas may be found) and will accept service from the person who sent the notice. Unless that person tells us within 10–14 business days that they have filed a court action, we may restore the material.
Repeat infringers. We suspend or close the accounts of users who repeatedly post infringing material.
No warranty
Pod Atlas is provided "as is". Show information can be incomplete or out of date, and third-party audio or players may be unavailable. To the extent the law allows, Pod Atlas isn't liable for damages arising from your use of the site.
