Preface

Jesus Christ, who is God, came to this earth to save us, who were under sin and death. The baptism of water that Jesus received from John was the work by which He had all the sins of the world passed on to Him once and for all. Because all our sins were passed on to Jesus, the Lord received in our place the judgment we were to receive by shedding His blood and dying on the Cross, and He rose again from death and became our eternal Savior.

Ch07_01_Sermon_There is no good in the flesh, and salvation is in the Lord (Romans 7:1–25)

There are times when, having made up our minds to live according to the word of God, we find ourselves before long drawn by desires we did not want. At such times we easily think that, since our resolve was weak, we need only resolve more firmly. However, in Romans chapter 7, after examining to the end what kind of being our flesh is, Paul asks who the One is who will deliver him.

Ch07_02_Sermon_We who have been saved through Jesus Christ and live by that faith (Romans 7:1–6)

The apostle Paul says that we have become dead to the law. This is a word saying that we became dead to the law in this way so that we might go to Him who was raised from the dead and bear fruit to God. In the course of our life of faith, following the word “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me” (Galatians 2:20), we often say that we have died in Jesus Christ.

Ch07_03_Sermon_We can do all things by faith in the righteousness of God (Romans 7:1–6)

Dear fellow believers, today we have looked at the word of Romans chapter 7 up to verse 6. Let us all read verses 1 and 2 together. The apostle Paul is speaking to the people who have become children of God and who do the work of God by believing in the gospel of the water and the Spirit. What the apostle Paul wants to say to God’s people is this: since you have already been delivered from the law of God, you must now live by faith in Jesus Christ.

Ch07_05_Sermon_The life of those who have the Holy Spirit (Romans 7:1–6)

2 views · 6d ago · 39:36

Are we people who belong to God, or people who belong to the devil? Are we people who have the Holy Spirit in our hearts, or people who do not have the Holy Spirit in our hearts? The passage we read today deals with exactly this question. Verse 1 of the passage says as follows: “Or do you not know, brethren (for I speak to those who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives?” (Romans 7:1).

Ch07_09_Sermon_The law of the flesh and the law of the Holy Spirit (Romans 7:7–25)

We must know what actually exists in a person who has been born again, that is, in a person who has received the remission of sins by believing in the gospel of the water and the Spirit. A person who has received the remission of sins has the flesh, and because he has the flesh, he also has the thoughts of the flesh. Also, because the Spirit of God, that is, the Holy Spirit, is in his heart, he also has the thoughts of the Holy Spirit.

Ch07_10_Sermon_What being born again is (Romans 7:14–25)

7 views · 6d ago · 33:38

Today, through the word of Romans chapter 7, verses 14 through 25, I would like to examine what being born again is, and how a person who has received the remission of sins by believing in the word of the gospel of the water and the Spirit can live a life of faith while looking at the reality of his own flesh.

Dear beloved saints, many people confess that they believe in the Cross of Jesus, yet deep in their hearts they still repeat the words, “I am still a sinner. Therefore I must repent again,” or “This time I must repent properly.” Why is that faith failing to lead us to the peace of heart that Jesus Christ accomplished by having the sin of the world transferred to Him through the baptism He received from John, and through the Cross, His death, and His resurrection?

Ch08_03_Sermon_Faith in which there is no condemnation (Romans 8:1–4)

In Romans 8:1, the apostle Paul says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit” (Romans 8:1). When we look deeply into this one verse, we can see how much all those who believe in Jesus long for this word. Everyone strives not to be condemned before God.

So Paul concludes that for the person who believes this, there is therefore now no condemnation at all to those who are in Christ Jesus—there can never be sin, there can never be judgment, and they have become those saved from sin and judgment—and then in verse 2 he repeats it once again and goes into a re-examination. That is, the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death. Two laws appear here.
